Republic Services Holiday Schedule for WCA Trash, Yard Waste, and Christmas Tree Collection

Republic Services Holiday Schedule

Thanksgiving Day – CLOSED (Thursday, Nov. 27th)

One-day delay. Thursday routes will run on Friday; Friday routes will run on Saturday.

Christmas Day – CLOSED (Thursday, Dec. 25th)

Yard waste routes will be paused. All Thursday routes will be serviced on Friday, and Friday routes will be recovered on Saturday.

New Year’s Day – CLOSED (Thursday, Jan. 1st)

Yard waste routes will be paused. All Thursday routes will be serviced on Friday, and Friday routes will be recovered on Saturday.

Yard waste season will end on December 24, 2025 and resume after March 1, 2026.

Christmas tree collection will take place during the first two weeks of January on your regular yard waste service day.  Trees over 9 feet must be cut in half and be free of ornaments, tinsel, and garland before being placed at the curb.

Orchard Lane and Waterview Cluster asphalt repaving scheduled for November 4 through November 7

The Waterview Cluster Board of Directors has contracted Brothers Paving & Concrete to repave the Cluster’s parking lots and driveways. Work is scheduled to take place in phases between November 4 and November 7, weather permitting.

During this time, vehicles will need to be removed from the areas being repaved for a minimum of 12 hours and likely for a longer period of time. We’re sharing this information early so residents can plan accordingly. Additional information and reminders will be shared as we approach the repaving dates.

In addition to repaving, Brothers Paving will perform curb repairs in select areas of the Cluster on October 27 and 28. Affected homeowners will be notified directly, as certain vehicles will  need to be relocated to allow this work.

Once repaving is complete, the parking lots will be restriped

Dear Customer:

As of 1:30 this afternoon RELAC started producing chilled water.  It will take a couple of hours for the total system to cool down.  We missed the by noon of the 2nd consecutive 80 degree day by a few hours.

Mike and Lamont worked with RA to install a tennis net across the opening by the  pump house.  By adding floats and weight to the tennis net they were able to keep it in the correct place.   Hopefully this will catch enough debris for operations.   If too much debris gets into the plant it can clog the screens and filters and shutdown the chillers.

At a later date the net will be replaced with the proper type of net.

I talked to Dave McAfee of Innovative Mechanical Systems and there has been a delay in getting the net replaced. RELAC cannot startup without this first line of defense for stopping debris from getting into the plant. The net should be installed by Wednesday.

Dear Customer:

It is taking a bit longer to complete the separation from spring RELAC than was expected.  As you can expect the finances between the two companies are different now that spring RELAC will not be purchasing the utility.  We are getting close.

Dave Mcafee’s company is fully onboard and has been prepping the system for startup.  Mike Coleman is assisting with startup and helping to coordinate between RA and RELAC with the lake dredging.  RA has offered to replace the RELAC net which helps to keep debris out of the pump house.

I will get another update out in two days.
