Please use the following NEW updated link to access your specific Cluster Standards in the Cluster Resource Hub. On the left you will see the menu – scroll down and click “Cluster Standards Flipbooks” and then navigate the alphabetical list to find your cluster.

Please share this link with any/all residents and feel free to post on any social media or websites that the cluster operates to ensure that the most up to date information is being shared.  These PDFs are frequently updated, anytime there are cluster standard approvals, newer photos, or an audit of the flipbook.  Please do not use any older links to the page-turning flipbook software, as it is not supported any longer.

Republic Services 2024 Holiday Trash Schedule

From Republic Services and TWC Management:

• Thanksgiving Day CLOSED (Thursday, Nov. 28th) One day delay. Thursday ran on Friday; Friday ran on Saturday.
• Christmas Day CLOSED (Wednesday, Dec. 25th) Yard waste routes will be paused. All Wednesday routes will be pushed to Saturday, Dec. 28th.
• New Year’s Day CLOSED (Wednesday, Jan. 1st) Yard waste routes will be paused. All Wednesday routes will be pushed to Saturday, Jan. 4th.
  
  
• Yard waste season will end on 12/24/2024 and resume after 03/01/2025.
  
  
• Christmas tree collection will be on the first 2 weeks in January on yard waste service day.
  All Trees over 9 feet in length will need to be cut in half and free of ornaments and tinsel/garland before being placed on the curb.

Dear Customers,

Tomorrow - Tuesday, October 8, 2024 - marks the end of the 2024 cooling season, in accordance with the official end-date for the provision of cool water to the lot line as directed by the VA State Corporations Commission.

We will be starting our orderly shutdown starting on October 9th to conclude the 2024 season. Please see our website for details as we progress, and we will continue to provide updates via email.

To help us get ready to deliver a superb service at the best possible price for 2025, please call 703-349-3301 and select Option 1 to follow recorded guidance between the dates of October 14th through 28th 2024 (please take note of these dates).

As we prepare for our second season of chilled water service, we again want to thank the many people who made donations for the refurbishment of our chilled water plant and equipment. Without this support, we would not have been able to successfully provide service such that we have for the 2024 season, whilst honoring our commitment to maintain the existing rates.

We’ve worked hard to maintain transparency and keep you informed of our progress. We feel that we delivered what we said we would do: that is to provide full service for the 2024 season throughout the SCC approved period (we included an extra month up front due to forecasted extreme heat conditions and concern for our community health and wellbeing) with improved engineering support and service.

We did what we said we would do, but that doesn’t tell us if we were successful in how we did it from your perspective, our customers. Will you share your feedback?

WCA Fall Work Day

Mark your calendars for Fall Work Day: Saturday, Oct. 26! During Fall Work Day, members of the Cluster come together to tidy up the neighborhood. This work can include cutting or pulling up invasive vines or plants, planting shrubs or trees, picking up debris around the neighborhood and just generally making the cluster look more tidy. The work we do on Cluster Work Day saves the Cluster hundreds of dollars we would otherwise pay landscapers or other companies. We will kick off the Work Day at the Marina at 8:30. The Landscape Committee will present tasks for the day. At approximately 12:30, we will break for a potluck lunch. 

2025 Waterview Cluster Budget Discussion (open to WV homeowners and residents)

Each fall, members of the Waterview Board meet to discuss the coming year's budget. Items that the budget pays for include WV landscaping contract, tree maintenance, trash collection, repair of common property (i.e., carports, pathways, marina, etc.), and other payments that are incurred in the administration and maintenance of the cluster. Homeowner dues cover the costs outlined in the budget. As costs change, homeowner dues may also change. The Waterview 2025 budget and homeowner dues amount for 2025 will be presented at the December General Membership meeting. (Date and location for this meeting will be set soon.) The Waterview Cluster Board will have a meeting to discuss the 2025 WV budget on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. via Zoom (link below). This meeting is open to Waterview Cluster homeowners, however, there will not be an option for public comment during the meeting.

WCA Spring Workday: Saturday April 6, 2024 (rain date: Sunday April 7th)

 Neighbors, 

SAVE the DATE: Spring work day is Saturday April 6th with Sunday the 7th as a rain date.

We will come together at the marina about 8:30 over a light breakfast and chore assignments. At noon we will break to enjoy a  pot luck lunch organized by Amiee Freeman. After lunch we will continue or make new assignments.  

The cherry blossoms are looking about two weeks early so we want to get cleaned up and spiffy before that. I look forward to our coming together. Bring your gloves and any tools you want to use— clippers, rakes, etc.

Republic Services Yard Waste Collection Resumes 3/6/24

Republic Services will resume yard waste collection on March 6, 2024.

Per Fairfax County Public Works and Environmental Services Yard Waste guidelines:

When preparing yard waste for collection at the curb, you can use reusable containers, paper lawn bags, or tie branches up with string. Fairfax County prohibits the use of plastic bags for yard waste. Reusable containers like old trash cans are a great way to manage yard waste – especially branches and twigs. Paper yard waste bags are designed to withstand the elements and are great for all types of yard waste. Eliminating plastic bags for yard waste collection will help reduce the amount of plastic in our natural environment.
